  • Anyone on whose certified G&T letter STILL hasn't been picked up? Mine was delivered on May 21, according to the tracking site. I didn't do it RRR.

    • yes ours--ours got to their mailbox on May 13 and still has not been picked up. We did RRR

    • why is it to hard for the DOE to pick up the darn letters--any of them all of them? at most it is 3000--they had to send out 16000. They deal with millions of kids all the time. Are the flummoxed by this or are we all just scrutinizing it too much?

      • np; Why are we all so trusting that we have the story straight? Is it possible that the postal worker who gave out the original info has it wrong somehow? Of course. Everyone just needs to RELAX!!! None of us really know anything, despite some who think they do.

        • exactly. I am very sure that by the time all of us receive the placement from the DOE the tracking system will still show that the letter is being held at the post office.

        • If you go back and read the letter the "simple" instructions say "mail in the enclosed envelope OR send to this address..." it did not say "send ONLY in this envelope if you want us to pick up your mail. DO NOT SEND IT CERTIFIED or RETURN RECEIPT REQUEST" nobody disobeyed anyone

    • What drives me crazy is the fact that they did not give us the option to drop off in person. If they had provided that option it would have saved me a lot of grief. (And I would have spent a lot less time on UB obsessivly checking posts regarding Certified Mail. Hmmm, maybe the DOE and UB are in this together.)

        • Mail gets lost. The only way to know for sure something has been delivered is to hand deliver it yourself.

          • yes, it does get lost but the chances for that are minimal. People get run over by cars on the streets every day. Do you still go outside for a walk?

            • Disagree with that. I have had at least 2 important items lost in the mail in my life. Have never been run over by a car. Also there are steps to take to make sure that you don't get run over by a car. Not much you can do once you give something over to the PO.

    • I just got a notice 5-minutes ago that mine was "delivered" today (mailed 5/9, notice left at post office 5/13) maybe they are updating now. I did RRR
