  • TTC next week. I have 2 dds. What are my odds of having a ds? I read that with each child you have of the same sex, the more likely you are to have the same gender three times in a row...so, I have a 75% chance of another dd?

    • Why oh why would you post this to 7 different boards, including Teenagers and Special Needs?

    • You should read Dr. Shettle's book even if you aren't trying for a certain gender it still breaks down all sort of statistics on this stuff. Yes, the chances are greater that you will have a third dd. You would need to take more time to use the Shettles method of upping your chances of getting a ds. If you know exactly when you will ovulate you could hold off having sex until that day (also dh shouldn't relieve himself prior to that either, he should also drink a coke about 30 minutes before sex). This will supposedly increase your chances of a ds.

      • I disagree with Shettles. If it really worked, all of China and India would be using it and there would be few girls. I tried it myself, twice, and got a shettles opposite both times. The stat about 75% chance of the 3rd being the same is not true. It is 50-50 random each time.
