  • I fought tooth and nail about getting a part-time job while the kids are in school. But I have to say that it was the best thing that's happened to me a in a long time. I actually look forward to going to work. I was a staunch SAHM and can totally see the WOHM side now, too. Just wanted to share...

      • OP: I'm an admin three days a week for a bunch of consultants. It's a temp job I got through an agency. It took three months for the agency to find me something flexible, but they did. I love accomplishing something that doesn't have to be re-done every day. The pay is really low, but I don't care.

        • I was fighting DH, whose mother was against me SAH from the beginning. She's been nagging him about why I'm not working while the kids are in school. She had a point, but it's OUR decision. DH wanted me to work so I could have some spending $$ and get out of the apartment and interacting with adults. I did it to shut them up (and to get some of my own money, which I missed having) and I have to admit they were right.
