My lactation consultant, my ob-gyn and my pediatrician all said it wasn't likely that my supply was too low. Then my lactation consultant let me borrow one of those finely calibrated scales. I'd weigh her before a feeding and after and she was only getting ½ ounce at every feeding - both breasts. And she was hungry. I also never felt "letdown" and they just felt flaccid all the time. It was a no brainer as far as I was concerned, but nobody else thought this was the case.

i had an emergency c, hemorrhage, severe anemia, postpartum preeclampsia on day 4 and with all the problems my supply never really came in well. pedi basically ordered us to supplement. tried everything to increase bm and finally gave up at 3 mo. i was so sad, like my body had failed in having a c instead of natural birth i wanted and failed at producing enough milk. db, however, is thriving on ff and dad enjoys feeding her.
