Does anyone have a car that is NOT an SUV or mini-van that can fit two carseats and a rear passenger?

We've done it in a Subaru Forester, but the adult has to be very, very thin. It's a very tight fit and not comfortable for more than a few minutes.

A car that can fit my two kids (2 yo and nb--so will be in carseats for a while) plus a babysitter, grandma, friend, etc. without sacrificing gas mileage. And also don't want to have to pay an oversized fee to garage it in NYC (which they charge for SUVs and minivans). We have a Passat stationwagon now and really like it but I think it's just a tiny bit too small. We basically only use the car for longish trips since live in NYC so it has to be comfortable for the third passenger.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
