  • DH is a trader and does well. But he is always skeptical of the market (for good reason, of course) and losing his job, etc. Any traders on? or wifes of traders, just wondering how long has DD/DP had their job and how are they doing? tia!

    • My DH is a trader. He does very well and we save a lot. I think he'd be a lot more worried, especially now, if we didn't save so well. But he loves what he does.

    • DH works at a hedge fund. He only got out of business school a few years ago. Oh, actually five, yikes. The fund he works at is okay so far YTD but we are trying to build up a buffer in case he ever is out of work for a year. He doesn't get paid all that well yet, but loves loves loves finance. I think your DH is smart to be skeptical now and plan accordingly.

    • traders are always paranoid, otherwise they wouldn't be good at their job. markets are super volatile, which creates tons of opportunities but also a lot of risk. and banks are reducing head count, so everyone is just really nervous right now.
