  • does your dh talk to dc each day when traveling? my ds was sick today and he knows when he goes to bed (he is in LA) and doesn't call till he is actually approaching the dinnertable and rushing our call. then he says he sleep for 2 hours and shoots me down saying he has no time to me but has time to call his friends to meet for dinner. a rant yes, but ds has strep and dh argues "i know that my son wants to hear from but I am busy."

    • hmm, my dc is too little for this to be an issue, and my dh doesn't travel, but if he did, i would expect him to be in touch & available if i needed or asked to talk to him. i guess it's all about the tone- if he's shooting you down rudely, that's no good and he must be scolded. if he's like i am when i'm traveling- sorry sorry sorry i'm so crazed i want to talk but can't, he's more ok. and as far as kids talking to him... i think that's a tossup, sort of depends on your family dynamic/traditions. i don't think i'd have expected it with my dad, but if it's your norm, then he shoudl be avail.
