  • Had a birthday party for 5yo dd at a gymnastics place. Had to order my own food. There was enough food for all the kids and parents, but not enough cake for all the adults. Is that bad? Should I have included all the adults for the cake as well?

    • I guess it would depend on the eating set-up, but if it were me, honestly I would have been craving a piece of cake!

    • Its never great to run out of food. But there's nothing you can do about it now.

    • As long as there was enough food and cake for all the kids, it's fine. I never understand why adults expect to be fed at a 1.5 hour party that is generally not at an adult mealtime.

      • I don't expect to be fed at all - and rarely take any food - but I do love cake. But it's quite OK if I don't get any either.

        • Right - I didn't mean to sound judgmental, I just didn't think OP should feel bad for not having enough cake for the grownups! I would never think ill of a hostess for that.
