  • My 14 month old ds is such a picky eater. He loves anything with bread-pizza, grilled cheese, etc. He won't touch pasta, chicken, meat, fruits, etc. I continue to give him jars, to ensure that he is getting enough. Anyone btdt? When did your dc beging to take more finger foods? I'm worried that he will be eating jars forever!!

    • they get picky and pickier and one day start eating again. stick with whatever he will eat and continue to try things until it works.

        • op--He also throws everything on the floor and makes a mess in general. Would you continue to give jars, or only finger foods and if he doeent eat, so be it? I think that is too extreme but curious what others think.

          • or: i know that's what most ubers would say and so does my ped but I just can't really let him skip a meal all together. i feel like I have to get some food into him and so distractions come into play

          • imho, you need to quit the baby food (he needs to learn how to manage "real" food), and not worry so much, even if he only eats a few things (btdt)

          • my strategy is to be quick. and distract her with a spoon and plate with some food it in. She tries to feed herself while i give her spoon fulls.
