  • really naive, not-in-NY mom here. somebody nutshell the schools thing for me? your kid has to compete to go to public school?

    • not for a reg. general education public but for the specialized or gifted and talented schools

    • no. your kid can jsut go to your zoned school. however, there are special programs fro "girted"kids that require testing (and a few otehr special programs)
