  • DD is 8yo. She is quite childish (in a good way I think) in that she is not really into fashion/pop/celebrities/etc and still likes to play with Littlest Pets/draw. I was going through her music and she has a lot of 'on top of spaghetti' 'BINGO' type songs which she still quite likes. Do you think she is getting too old for them? I don't want her to hold her back socially but I love that she still acts like a kid.

    • dd is 10 and just starting to be aware of hannah montana type stuff-i still shield her from a lot of the popular music; i definitely think there's plenty of time for all that other junk

      • Thanks...good to hear. It's me comparing to the other kids in her class I guess who seem to mostly be obsessed with High School Musical and fashion, etc.

        • yes-she loves hsm stuff, but totally NOT into fashion; and even with dance classes-we picked more jazz/tap stuff vs hiphop

    • No! She is fine and she's only 8. I think it's sad that we've gotten to the point where we expect kids to know about Britney Spears, etc.

    • let her toss it when she no longer wants it. dd has kept some things from when she was little that she just didn't want to get rid of of. We put it in storage for her.
