I need some help here. I basically only have 2 rules. One, no tv in the morning during the school week, and two, no video games during the school week. EVERY SINGLE MORNING AND AFTERNOON, ds asks to do either one. I am at the end of my rope. Seriously. I have actually started yelling which I don't like to do. Any advice for this over the edge single mom?

[ Reply | Options ]christ, let the poor kid play some video games, just limit the amount of time and only after he finishes homework
[ Reply | Options ]OP: I am not a fan period of video games but he was given the system. I would rather he be outside playing or using his imagination. he's free to play all he wants beginning Friday evening to Sunday evening.
[ Reply | Options ]ita. sounds like your goals are a bit unrealistic and will unravel. work together toward a compromise. good luck...
[ Reply | Options ]OP: Why are they unrealistic? He can watch tv in the evenings and he becomes a zombie when he plays video games. I don't like it. He can play on the weekends. When he plays during the week it makes everything a hassle: bathtime, bedtime, etc.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
