New to NY and need to rent an apartment. If I rent a place with a broker and it's a 15% fee-- is it based off of what? 1 month? 1 year? Is that the normal rate? So, if the place costs $10,000/month. What would I pay for that year?

its 15 % of the first years rent and it is high way robbery. the landlords should be paying this fee, not the renters. if you are not looking for an architectural gem, go to newyorklivingmag.com and check out their guide to rental buildings. call the leasing offices directly and find yourself an apartment without a fee. the market is slow enough that this is possible. signed, Manhattan realtor

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
