    • Okay, this is regarding I-9 documentation. We collect ID at orientation - my coworker copies it then gives the copies to me. I thne fill out the I-9s and attach the copies. Only, I am signing them, "under penalty of perjury" that I saw original documents and they looked real, etc. I feel a little weird doing this especially since no one completed this section before I entered the dept. and boss made me go through and fill out all the ones with missing info before I even joined HR.

      • It's fine. As long as you have the copies attached to prove the documents exist, or you have actually seen the document. Also be sure to keep those filed separate from the employee file
