dh and I rent in the city. he really wants a house and wants to put an offer on one. I am so nervous and reluctant-not only because I don't want to leave the city, but because we are at the high end of what we can afford, whereas I'm someone that would rather be at the low end (unless we wait a year or two and save a lot more money). I'm afraid I'm being the naysayer or pessimist here, but I'm also afraid I'll totally regret this and blame him. I was thinking it'd be fun to go to Boston for Memorial Day weekend-and then realized, if we buy this house, we can't AFFORD to do things like that-we'd be house poor.

[ Reply | Options ]I agree-the problem is we did look about 3 years ago (granted, the market was crazy)and I was just as reluctant then-so not sure if having an extra 50K in the bank in a year or two will make me feel any better about this. I'm just really uncomfortable with debt, and this is such a massive amount, to me.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
