Help. I'm going crazy with the nap situation. 6 mo ds won't nap for more than 30 min (if I'm very lucky I'll get 45). It takes me more time than that to get him down! Please tell me this gets better! Who are these mommies who's dbs nap for 2 hours? I'm so jealous!

[ Reply | Options ]it definitely gets better. my db's naps consolidated around 7 mos. 2 things you can try: (1) as soon as db starts to wake, go in and shush her back down, so she goes back to sleep. eventually she might get the idea. or (2) let her CIO till she sleeps longer. Or, (3), just wait and it will be better! GL.
[ Reply | Options ]My 4 mo has the same issue - we have found that for at least one of her naps, if we go in right as she is waking up and pick her up and rock her for 10, sometimes 20 min, she will go back to sleep for at least another 30 minutes, but most often for 1.5 to 2 more hours. We usually just let her sleep for 30 minutes for her remaining naps, but that way she gets at least 3 hours of day sleep. We usually do the morning nap because we've read (Weissbluth) that that is the easiest nap for them to take early on, and it seems to work well. Good luck!

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
