how long would you date someone without getting engaged before you gave up on them? 26 yo
13 replies [ Reply | Watch | Options ]2 years. Had a baby together 6 weeks ago but haven't discussed marriage except that I told him I wasn't getting married just because i was pregnant but now i want to (not because of the baby but bc it feels right) It's fkked up but I don't know how he feels

just ask him. sounds silly, but just talk to him about it. he is not a mind reader and may be having the same thoughts but is worried because you already told him that your aren't getting married just because of the baby. have the conversation and take it from there.
[ Reply | Options ]DH and I were together five years before we started talking marriage. There was no proposal, just a discussion, and then another, and then another. Took us six months to decide to do it. Married twelve years so far, happily. Don't hang around waiting for him to get down on one knee --- talk about it.

this sounds like us. we met after college, moved in together almost immediately, dated for 3 years before getting engaged--but only bc i was going overseas for a job--and then didn't even plan on getting married...but then just decided to wing it and semi-elope (7 years after getting engaged.) good thing we were young when we started!

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
