  • Is it wrong not to do molding, window frames and doors in white? Can you paint all the same color as the rest of the room?

    • it won't look clean and crisp. the white shows off the molding and if you've got molding, you want to show it off.

    • we did trim in a light-ish blue with light olive walls in LR only & it's really nice. no drapes, just simple shades. rest of house has all white trim with pale colored walls, classic & pretty. wanted something snazzier in LR.

        • yes. house is over 100 yrs old, lovely bulls-eye molding, etc, & an ancient stained glass panel in LR. the shades are light golden yellow, picking up the main color of the stained glass. the blue/green shades are also taken from s.glass design. guests alw always rave & say they'd never have thought to do it, but that it looks great.
