  • Is there anyone that used a "mother's helper" just for first year of dbs life. like a nanny but not that permenent. Usually for the short term?

    • I had an au pair which was about the same thing. I would consider if you are truly around most of the time, though then I doubt you would need her for a full year (just until db is sleeping well) unless you have more than one dc.

        • I had several actually. First was from germany and great for an au pair (though still not on par with the professional nannies I've had now). Then had 2 more from germany, one from Spain - who all had significant problems including getting drunk while wa watching db.

    • usually a mother's helper is a teenager who is home with you. very different than a nanny
