Need to write an OK, not glowing reference letter for former nanny. Not sure what to write that is honest but not over the top. I assumed someone will call & speak to me in person before hiring her so I can tell them my concerns.

- just don't use any superlatives. List her strengths, but be honest about them

- keep it simply with list of responsibilities the nany was given plus her hours, dates of employ etc.

- use words like "satisfactory" and "generally prompt" -- the reader will pick up on the fact that it is not a glowing review.
