  • Friend of mine applied to 10 schools for ongoing. Had multiple acceptes and the rest WLs. Is it unusual to not receive a rejection while applying to so many schools?

    • I don't know anyone who applied to 8 or more who did not get a rejection. Was your friend coming from day care or a no name school?

    • ds applied to 10 and had no rejections. I don't think it is that uncommon. PSD did talk to all the schools but not tt pre-school (UES East of 1st Ave.)

    • I don't think it is that unusual. We applied to 9 for dc, 32accepts, 1 reject, rest waitlists. The one reject we did not follow up with because we thought it was a bad fit, i.e., no thankyou notes, ILY letters, etc. I think if you have a strong candidate and you play the game for all schools, no rejections would be common.

    • DC was rejected at 1 out of 12 schools; the others were WLs and accepts. The rejection school was the one where we thought it was a bad fit and didn't convey any interest. I think all WLs/accepts is pretty common.
