Please help - too many opinions. have 2 month old, everyone telling me if he's fed and dry and crying - to put him down for anywhere from 15-30 minutes and let him cry. if he doesnt stop, go back in. seems kinda long to me. what do you think? HELP!

- I am a huge proponent of CIO, however, I'd never do it until a child was at least 5 months old.

- If he's fed and dry, I'd let him fuss a little if he started full blown upset crying I'd go in.

- there are different styles. i would settle db and lay down content. db always cried as i left and i'd give her 10 min tops before i went back in. but others do it differently

- way too young for cio. hold him, rock him, walk with him. anything, but that's really young to cry for 30 min.

- He's way to young - if he's fed and dry and crying, he could need to burp, he could just want to be held - pick him up. You cannot let a 2 m/o cry.

- Happiest Baby on the Block Advise: Swaddle, Swing, Shush (what's the other?)... Seriously, it helps in those first few months...

- make sure he is in fact not hungry. our db cried a lot and in the end i think he wasn't getting enough to eat

- use your own judgement. but i will add there's a difference between fussing and crying and that 15 minutes is a long time.

- df did this with her second and now they sleep through the night (like 12 hrs) as a 3mo. I am envious but also taken aback.
