        • i've had to distance myself from her recently, so my kids haven't seen her recently. even before that, she'd rarely see them, even though she would visit my brother who live 5 minutes away from me, it's all about $$ for her. makes me sad.

            • what's worse is that my dad passed away 13 yrs ago, and dh's father left when dh was very young - so really all dd's have is their grandma's. luckily, mil is wonderful.

              • no, don't ever think that. it's not you at all. we had lots of things happen when we were younger, very dysfunction family and both of my parents were at fault. i can get beyond the past, but only if she steps up now. unfortunately, all she continues to do is dissappoint. it just gets to a point where you KNOW it's not you.
