We've been trying to plan a big family trip. Sil and i have been working on it, sent out hotel ideas to everyone, no one ever objected so we went ahead and booked it. Now 2 of them say it's not nice enough and are staying somewhere else much fancier but not as good for kids and a drive from the beach rather than on the beach. WWYD? Switch to a more expensive fancier place to all be together or stay at the much more convenient kid-friendly place you already booked? There are 2 kids booked at the fancy place and 2 of us at the kid-friendly place. WDYT?

[ Reply | Options ]They're not doing it to stay apart, they are really doing it b/c they can't stand not to stay at the absolute nicest place in the area.

I'm a little on the fence. I mean, maybe my place will be schmaltzy, but the rooms are suites with kitchens rather than single hotel rooms and it has a bunch of pools and an indoor waterpark for the kids, plus a kids club.

Well to be fair, their place is a very fancy spa/hotel/golf/resort type place, my place is a perfectly decent very kid-friendly place on the beach. It's not nearly as nice but more fun for the kids, imo.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
