  • 9 wks pg and really bummed and homesick. My brother is coming home from Afghanistan on Monday and my family is having a huge party, but because of $$ and my really bad m/s I couldn't fly out to be there when he comes home. This sucks.

      • op: I have some miles, but not enough. My family doesn't have the kind of money it costs for a last minute flight, my parents are retired.

        • I'd contact the local affiliate news station, tell them your story and ask them for a plane ticket in exchange for coverage of the reunion

          • op: that's a good idea, but it is in a different country, I doubt there is much American interest in Canadians serving in Afghanistan. :)

                  • op: A train would take 2 or 3 days, it is literally on the other side of the country. And there is no way I could go all the way there and not bring his niece. He's only met her twice before but he had me send him a bunch of pictures while he was over there. He is hoping to come and visit me when he gets some leave though, so I guess that is some silver lining. Thanks for all your ideas though, you're great!

          • op: ahh, well, I got what I thought was a period on day 21 of my cycle so I assumed I wasn't pg, but it didn't really amount to much so I tested on day 29 and yes I was pg (implantation bleeding I guess)

      • op: he's not stationed where my parents live, so I think he is only going to be there for a week or two and then he starts his leave, but I'm not sure where he'll be going. He's special forces and doesn't really talk much about his job at all.
