  • can i do time outs with my 18 mo. old? would sticking her in the play and pack for 1 minute be a good idea?

    • i started time outs at 18mo. dd was very verbal and totally got it. did not need to use them often, but it totally worked when i did.

        • i put her in a spot in our dining room against the wall. i got down on her level and said, you are in time out for XXX. i waited a minute while she stayed there and cried. then explained why she was there again and had her apologize. then give her a hug and kiss.

    • no, its not recommended for pre2. Most acting out behaviors in toddlers are just a stage and will pass no matter what you do. No need to make a big deal out of them. Just No and redirect
