  • doing cio with 7mo dd. she slept from 7:30 to 6am straight last night. but she awoke at 6 crying, rubbing her eyes. i brought her into bed & b/f her. she slept, a bit fitfully, another hour or so. should i have left her in her crib at 6am to fall asleep o on her own? would have had to cio bec she was unhappy. 2nd question: when should her next nap be? she awoke at 7:45am.

    • you should have left her. thats what CIO is. She wasn't ready to wake up. now you know she needs another hour to wake up. now don't go in until 7am if she wakes up before 7.

        • no, you woke her up. she was probrably just waking up for a minute, then would have gone back to sleep. She obviously wasn't ready to get up. If she is okay with you going in and just checking diaper (not picking up and leaving the room) then you can do hat, but most babies arne't.

    • First: we did Weissbluth at 6mo, and at 8mo, dd still does the last hour or two in our bed with us... I look forward to it. Even if you don't want to do this, you didn't mess up by doing that this morning. Second: 9"45-10am, first nap
