  • PPD? Something else? DH is gone for four days, and I am literally falling apart handling my 3yo and 6mo. I am overwhelmed, exhausted, and so upset that DH gets free time (though I am not in any way angry with him as I know it is irrational). Why can't I eal? What is my problem??

      • OP: Some days I ask myself why I find this so hard. After all, single mothers or divorced mothers have to do this EVERY weekend. WTF? I don't feel like what I am feeling is proportional

          • listen to this, OP !don't compare yourself to others, just worry about yourself. by beating yourself up you make it harder!

        • not everyone can be "superwoman". See if you can get some help from family or i was even thinking of joining a gym so I could have 1.5 hrs to myself while the kids go to the nursery!

              • if she's home w/ the kids during the day, it certainly is. she needs to make time for herself, and since dh isn't around putting dc's in gym daycare for an hour or 2 may be the only way she can get it. plus exercise will help her so much.

                • itd. not when i had ppd. i could barely get myself dressed and i only had 1. to lug him to the gym from where i was , there was no point. kid had to eat, nap, etc. i know the excercise thing, but this option isnt feasible for all

                  • mine napped right in the daycare, fed her right before and you can leave them with a bottle/drink. we go at 9am everyday, she just had breakfast. i had ppd too and it helped me more to force myself out than sit at home crying.

        • sleep deprivation makes everything a hundred times worse. can someone come over and help with baby so you can get some rest?

    • It's hard. What you are doing is very very hard. You need abreak and some time to yourself. Fnd a way to get some when DH gets home (or sooner if possible).

    • ppd wouldn't be starting now (at 6 mo) unless you've already had it, so you're probably just tired and overworked - it happens to all of us! Cut yourself some slack!
