WWYD: WAHM who has a FT nanny to help with dd. My work is going to end in June and that's also when dd will go to camp 9-noon. We love our nanny and I don't want to lose her but I don't need all this help. Anyone have experience scaling back a nanny? Should I suggest different hours? Like, she would work weekend evenings? TIA.

- Depends if this is temporary for the summer or permanent. If permanent, find a friend who needs morning help and propose a nanny share to your nanny.

- a lot of people are open to negotiations, but this depends entirely on the person and her life. She may find another FT position and be unavailable, or may seek and find a PT position. Can you be flexible based on the hours off her hypothetical new job?

- tell her your situation and ask her whether she would be willing to take on other duties in order to keep job, e.g., housecleaning, running errands? don't you have major spring cleaning to do? give her projects (e.g., wash all windows etc.)
