  • what are probiotics and should I be giving it to my 18mo?

    • only if the kid needs antibiotics and if said kid won't eat yogurt. Or if you have a stomach bug or whatever. It replaces good bacteria in the colon that gets lost during sickness or wiped out from antibiotics

    • bacteria that is supposed to line your gut and aid digestion. you do not need to be giving them to your kid (most of the ones you can buy aren't any good any way--they degrade very easily). just feed her yogurt and don't worry too much.

      • even you shouldn't bother unless you can get them from a reliable source. they aren't shelf stable (they die easily) and what you get in health food stores is mostly degraded and worthless.
