i not only hated it, but dreaded it. had thrush really bad and cracked nipples, mastitis. i fought through it because i'm stubborn as hell and came out the other end weaning at 15 mos! it got sooo much better after 3 weeks. will you try with the next one one do you think? NOT judging you- either way your db will be fed and happy.

no such thing as a db that young who self weans. it's likely that she didn't want to nurse when you wanted her to, but would have been happy to do it at inconvenient times. not saying it's good or bad either way, but babies don't self wean.
[ Reply | Options ]it turns out she had an ear infection, so that's probably why and had it been really important to me at that stage I would have pushed it, but like I said, I was ready. Also, we were down to 2x/day at that point, I am a WOHM and didn't feel like havin the little time we had together during the week spent with me trying to force her to nurse.
