  • OK, we're out of water and the tap water isn't drinkable. It's not far to go, but I'm aching all over. so don't want to do this.

      • lots of places. i once looked at an apartment in Brooklyn where i was told the tapwater was contaminated bc of an oil spill. that said, i'm pretty far from there. it comes out from the taps brown sometimes and the town water tanks are questionable.

        • fyi - brooklyn does not have ground water. it comes from resevoirs upstate - if there was an oilspill the entire nyc water supply would be affected - n ot just brooklyn

          • NP: I've lived in Brooklyn my whole life and I don't recall not being able to drink water because of an oil spill here.

          • fyi it was a particular area in brooklyn that at one particular time, the water became undrinkable bc of the oil spill. i didn't want ot say where I live, bc i don't want to. but the water here, is not drinkable. unless you want giardia (sp) or to drink atever is making it brown. it tastes horirble too. we used to drink it, but kept getting sick.
