  • I'm sick. DH is much worse. I hate this having to put my own health and self aside as I run between taking care of dh and dd. All i want to do is sleep. This is a good reason to move close to family. I know my parents would help.

      • not really. we're new in town. know people, but not well enought to call for help. that, and i'm not so good at asking for help to begin with.

    • Lucky that yours would help. I live 10 minutes from my mother and she would not help!

    • you'd expose your parents to this germ, just so they could take care of you???

      • no. i would ask them to take dd for the afternoon so dh and i could sleep. my parents have never taken care of me. even when i ws a kid. i woudln't expect it from them now. they would, however, enjoy spending the afternoon with dd.

          • i was usually left at home alone when sick. i remember crawling to the bathroom when i was 8 yrs old and home with strep and a 104 fever bc i was too dizzy to stand up. my dad would come home around lunch time to give me lunch. it hink it's part of the r ason why it's so hard for me to take care of others when i'm sick.

            • interesting. my mom was a horrible nurse, but my dad was all right. i've always been really good at taking care of sick people though. hope you feel better soon.

              • i think i'm pretty good at it too, i think. i just run out of patience after a certain point. esp bc i'm not feeling well. they're both calling from different parts of the apartment asking for things, needing this and that.

        • i know. i think some people come here with a huge chip on their shoulders and just want to piss others off as much as they are pissed off. it's sort of sad, I wonder if the perosn who made this comment will even bother replying to the OP's response.

        • I wouldn't want to get my parents, in their 60's, sick. I'd want them to stay away and stay healthy.
