  • My husband is against getting life insurance and won't tell me why - just insists never to bring it up again whenever I bring it up. For 2 healthy people in their 30s w/2 kids under 5- about how much would one expect to pay for a good policy? Any exampl s that you ladies can share would be so appreciated. Thanks.

    • We pay about $1200-1500 yr for our 2 policies. Mine is $1M, dh's is $2M, I believe.

    • My DH is a financial advisor etc... and he is adamant about getting adequate life insurance, plus he says many people don't get enough because they are ill advised, so shop around and get more than one opinion.

        • Not trying to be rude but he is being quite rude to you. Life Insurance is a must unless you are extremely wealthy. You need to put your foot down and get to the root of the issue.

      • OP Here: No, I don't think so since we both had blood test for genetic tests and such when 1st DC was born, so this would have come up.

        • TIAA_CREF - highly rated. He was 28 when he got it - 30 year term. He's very healthy, too. I went to accuquote.com, I think, and found rates for AAA rated companies under his price limit

      • My DH ( the Fin adviser) says he gets this all the time because most life insurance salesmen suck and are not very bright. You have to find a reputable company and ask for a financial adviser not just a guy who sells insurance.
