People get really upset when you say your baby doesn't watch television. Seriously, IRL I would never mention it. There is a very funny utube thing about a guy who tells everyone he meets he doesn't have a television, like it is the only interesting thi aobut him. Having said that, we don't have a tv, my oldest is 8, and we are doing just fine. My kids are social, they love sports, they are culturally literate, and fine happy children. So well done!
[ Reply | Options ]what's wrong with him/her knowing it's a TV and what it does? Just because they know that doesn't mean they'll become drooling TV junkies. i just find this very odd. It's not a lamp, it's a TV-why mislead db?
[ Reply | Options ]I can think of lots of reasons! The same reasons my kids don't know what my Hitachi Magic Wand is actually for.
[ Reply | Options ]Well, a Hitachi Magic Wand can either be a massager or a vobrator. Last time I checked people don't use their TV's a slamps. Do you really not see the difference?
[ Reply | Options ]I see them both as ways that parents attempt to control the amount and kind of information their kids get at an early age.
