  • Dh and I really thought wed be able to share a bedroom with ds when he came along. It took 7 weeks before we were sleeping on the couch. For those of you who made this work, can you explain how? Are you not noisy, is db a very sound/quiet sleeper? We all just kept each other awake, I think.

    • that happened with both my babies as well. their presence (and feeling the need to check on them all the time) kept me awake, and after db was 3 mo or so, little noises like just rolling over in bed, disturbed him. both hims.

    • it worked great for us with our first baby (crib was in our room until he was 2). with #2, it didn't. You just may have a baby that this isn't ideal for

    • ds was in our room until he was 7mos old. We just used the bedroom for sleeping and kept the lights off.

    • We have a 1 bedroom and it is down the hall from the living room, so it's pretty quiet in the evenings. At night, we just go in and sleep, while our dd is sleeping and she sleeps right through it.

    • hmmm, hasn't been a problem and db is 9 months! AND we have a spare room for him, it's just easier to keep him close.
