Here's my experience. I co-slept until late in my second pregnancy then transfered #1 who was 16 months or so to a futon in our room. Most nights dh or I ended up there with him. It took forever to get him to sleep through the night and until he was almo t 4 (and expecting a 3rd) to get him to fall asleep on his own. Now that I have 4 dcs I realized that this was all much more difficult for me than it needed to be. I love co-sleeping while babies still need to nurse in the night. With my dcs that was at about 6-8 months. After that I moved all babies (excepting #1) to their own crib and nightweaned. This doesn't help you, since I think you are past the point where transiting #1 to his/her own bed will be easy. But as someone how loved co-sleeping until there was very little sleeping invovled for anyone, I' say why not tranisiton #1 to her own bed? It'll be a rough week, but it doesn't sound like you are on a picninc now. You all deserve some sleep! I feel for you, having btdt. And congrats on the new babe. It might be rough now, but it really is a great age gap and will be wonderful before you know it!

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
