  • ds is about to age out of EI and I had him evaluated to continue services. The psychologist told me he has sensory issues, but no one ever mentioned this to me before. After she pointed things out to me I realized she's right and I feel like an idiot for never seeing it before.

    • mild cases are not always that obvious. Great that it was still caught fairly early, he can't be older than 3 yet anyway

        • yeah I think so. As long as you get the right help now you are doing all you can. FWIW I think lots of kids have this and it goes undiagnosed way longer.

        • my 4 yo ds has sensory issue and was only diagnosed a few months ago. It's really no big deal and you're not late at all. In fact, you're on the early side for catching it if he hasn't turned 3 yet. Don't worry about it. In fact, my MIL thinks it\ made-up diagnosis that doesn't need treatment at all.

      • he doesn't like dirt and is always worried his shoes are dirty or he will get dirty. He doesn't play with anything that will get his hands dirty, like fingerpainting. He also can't stand crowds, really gets upset.

        • i don't think you should feel bad at all. I know lots of kids that are weird about dirt and they grow out of it. Crowds can be scary for a little person too. Don't worry, your getting the help he needs, good for you!
