  • Are you smarter than a 5th grader? There are 7 girls in a bus. Each girl has 7 backpacks. In each backpack, there are 7 big cats. For every big cat there are 7 little cats. Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

      • Your answer is correct, but I can't get to it - walk me through the math...49 backpacks w/8 cats each, right? so 392 cats w/4 legs each, which is 1568, plus the 14 girls' legs which is 1582. Tell me what I am missing??

        • 56 cats * 7 backpacks * 7 girls with backpacks * 4 legs per cat + 14 little girlie legs And now you all know why my speleng and gramer are so bad. I'm a math girl.

            • Thank you! You know, I read a post someone wrote about Jennifer Weiner (Good In Bed) and how her books are riddled with grammatical errors and such. I had no idea and I kinda felt like a boob. Thank God I'm good at math. And honestly I'm thankful for the grammatical ignorance. Helps me enjoy chick-lit (blech - bad term).
