I didn't do it and I don't regret it. It's a cruel way to go and fucks up mother/child bonding.
[ Reply | Options ]itd. i didn't cio but my cousin did andi can assure you their bond is no worse than a non cio kid and the kid is healthy, happy, and totallyy fine.

we did it on both kids at 6 mo. I'd say cumulative 1 hr of crying over 4 nights did it. we have had rock-solid sleepers since then, and one is absolutely ms. opinionated and not the docile type. they are 5 and 9 now and have always done bedtime so smoothly because they don't even imagine they have a choice. I don't think it's a deep psychological issue of yes v no on cio, bonding, guilt, what's good parenting, ec. it's a simple tool that works well and brings sanity to your household.
[ Reply | Options ]kids are different. tried 3 nights with my dd - she just wound up more and more and more until she'd be in there gagging and retching. the next day she'd be super clingy. switched to the "no cry sleep solution". took FOREVER, but now she goes to be easily and happily and sleeps through the night. I say whatever works. But don't assume what works for one will work for another.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
