  • Can I get your thoughts - in therapy for ppd....realized my mom had major depression growing up.....always felt like we were a burden....i don't rememeber any "happy" times after we moved from LI to NJ (I was 4), my mom never really made me feel welcom at home after college, i really didin't feel like i could move home as a temporary solution, she also always makes comments like ok i've had enough when i'm there with grandkids or "oh isn't yoru father sorry he missed this b-day party" when we had my 3-yos b-day party.....she rarely ever babysits and if she does she's exhausted adn totally wiped out for days (she healthy and 65) and let's you know the toll it took on her. is this a normal family or one that may cause me to have some issues?

    • clearly your relationship with your mother is at the root of a lot of your stuff. Hang in there in therapy and work on this. Sending all good thoughts your way.
