well, yes, but we also know adjusting to another family's cultural nuances takes time. OH, i should add from the beginning she was team me because she and my mother are from the same home town (BIZARRE) and my grandfather was her pastor. she knew my whol family and my family knew hers. so she wanted me in the fam for that reason-- so we'd spend holidays with her family in her hometown!

you sound awesome. YOu went into the relationship with DH as a mature person which I'm sure helps in your relationship with MIL..
[ Reply | Options ]i wanted a MIL. to have a second mother who only knows you as an adult can be such a rich relationship. she's also very brilliant and accomplished and i would like to think she'd hand pick me for dh had he not done it himself. OH, and my FIL and i have huge crushes on each other (2nd best grandad of all time) so she put up no fight

me. She's fun, nonjudgemental and lives is FL (we are in Boston), but even if she were closer, I'd still like her.

When I ride in a taxi cab with my DC I:
- Use a carseat
- Buckle him/her in his/her own seat
- Hold him/her on my lap
- I'd never ride in a taxi with my DC, it's much too dangerous!
