  • Any advice on how not to become bitter over why my poor DS has to have "issues"? jesus, I did everything right, I just feel like it's not fair for him to go through this.

    • It's so hard to see them struggle.

      • that's it. I HATE that my child has to struggle with things that are supposed to come naturally to a child.

      • The truth is, this isn't a new thing...I'm just still unable to get past the "unfair" aspect of it. Though I realize things could be worse, I'm still bitter when I see all the typical kids at the playground.

    • Remember that his life is his life - it's not that something was taken away from him; he is simply different. All kids have to struggle with *something* - his difficulties are just more apparent. No one will get a free ride.

    • I'm not a big believer in consoling yourself through comparisons with those who are worse off, but if all else fails...

    • You know, my DD is 5.5yo and we've been aware of issues since she was 4 mos. I am like you and still feel anger and misplaced resentment. Haven't figured it out yet myself. Just know that you're not the only one. I feel fortunate that I have here to vent and others can be so supportive. Hang in there!
