  • Can they tell if you have thyroid cancer from a sonogram, or you need a biopsy?

    • I think you pretty much always need a biopsy to confirm a cancer diagnosis...otherwise, it's just a mass that may or may not be malignant.

    • They can tell if you have nodules/growths from the ultrasound (which generally is not a good sign). But I believe they confirm via biopsy. FWIW, it's very curable/treatable.
