Dh had a really scary moment in a bad neighborhood yesterday and now I'm so scared to think of losing him.

he works as a land surveyor and was working on a job for the city of Chicago water management. He was surveying a plot of land in a really bad neighborhood on the south side and a small boy (maybe 5 years old) was sitting on the porch of the house. He was talking with DH, asking him what he was doing , etc. DH was explaining he was taking the locations of the land for the city to help them put new water main in, etc. THen some guy comes along and asks the little boy what's going on..DH didn't hear what they talked about, but saw the guy go in the house. The little boy turned back to DH with a really serious look of concern and said "you're about to get shot". DH called his work partner and said "we're done for the day" and they left. They have to go back and finish the job next week, but the boss will get them each a police escort.

thanks, I really never thought he was in a dangerous line of work (other than potential to be hit by a car while surveying on the highway), but he's been in really bad neighborhoods the past few months, and many people talk to them/harass them/etc but it it's never been that scary for him. I hate it.
