i live well below my means. it feels good. i don't have to worry if i get laid off or can never work again. i don't even have THAT much money, peanuts compared to many new yorkers but i have a great exit plan and don't buy into all the crap you buy.

we live well below our means too, but it allows us not only to not be so worried about a "rainy" day, but also it allows to splurge on the "crap" without worrying that we can't make the mortgage payment.
