Follow up on post below: When did pink become a girl color, if blue was always the chick shade before? Virgin Mary, Cinderella, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty (till Disney changed her dress)...

It used to be the opposite, b/c pink was a derivation of red, the more powerful color, and blue was more serene.

I did a quick internet search and came up with this article from time in 1927 -- at this time pink and blue were interchangable for boys and girls http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,737019,00.html
