my 2 yo is in a hitting phase. I made it until 6:30 tonight without losing my temper at him, but the last time he got my eye and really hurt me and I yelled. Now I feel bad, but how do I stop this?

My guy is really sweet-tempered but he hits sometimes when he's mad and also when he's excited/happy but can't express it. I've tried everything and he doesn't seem to get it. He apologizes no knows it's wrong, but still....
