  • I am having a hard time right now with wanting school to see that ds has major issues, vs being very proud of his improvements and gains this year

    • It's the old tug of war. My best suggestion is to get the support you need for dc, while privately celebrating his strengths. Right now, talking about them may not be in his best interest.

      • OP- yep, you are right. We've been tryingt o get the school to see that he has major anxiety about using hte school bathroom- today he told me he went to the bathroom twice-- I almost said, "Your teacher didn't see you, did she?" LOL

        • That is great! Try to find out what the circumstances were under which he used it - was anything different? If you can gather info like that it may help school understand what kind of support he needs.
