    - Absolutely. My dd once had an infection so bad it burst her eardrum and she had no symptoms at all.

- op: oh great - dd is doing most of this stuff. no fever but crankier than usual, very clingy, touching ear. what happens if it's left untreated? now i'm really worried. will have to call ped tomorrow

      - just call in am. our ped's office has sick hrs from 9-10, you see whoever is on duty that am, no need to call or for appt. maybe yours deos this too

        don't be nervous. if you are, call ped now, but seriously, my kids have had tons of ear infections. not a ped, but your dc should be uncomfortable but should be fine tomorrow. how old is dc?

        yeah, you don't want to think of your db as uncomfortable. but seriously, hopefully she sleeps ok tonight, just go to ped in am. everything will be fine.

  - if left untreated for a period of time it could lead to fluid in the ear which in turn could lead to tubes being installed... go to the ER. Save yourself you are going to be up all night anyway.

  - most ear infections clear up on their own - untreated, but see your Dr. tomorrow to see how serious it is. And treat with tylonal in the meantime.

    - ^^^fyi - one of my DC ear infection went to the fluid state - saw in on the pillow - and it cleared up in 2 days with antibiotics. Other times dr. told us to just wait and see and they cleared up by themselves

Absolutely. My dd once had an infection so bad it burst her eardrum and she had no symptoms at all.
